Denmark shares higher at close of trade; OMX Copenhagen 20 up 3.74%

Denmark equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & GasHealthcare and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Copenhagen, the OMX Copenhagen 20 gained 3.74%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Copenhagen 20 were Novo Nordisk A/S Class B (CSE:NOVOb), which rose 5.67% or 33.40 points to trade at 622.60 at the close. Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CSE:VWS) added 4.56% or 4.30 points to end at 98.70 and AP Moeller - Maersk A/S A (CSE:MAERSKa) was up 3.62% or 400.00 points to 11,450.00 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Zealand Pharma A/S (CSE:ZELA), which lost 1.10% or 8.00 points to trade at 720.00 in late trade. Demant A/S (CSE:DEMANT) declined 0.61% or 1.60 points to end at 261.80 and Coloplast A/S (CSE:COLOb) shed 0.50% or 4.00 points to 793.20.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.09% or 0.06 to $70.10 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 1.24% or 0.90 to hit $73.22 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $2,633.50 a troy ounce.

USD/DKK was unchanged 0.01% to 7.17, while EUR/DKK rose 0.14% to 7.47.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 108.00.
